This home is a perfect example of modern beauty meets country classic. This kitchen features Imperial Danby marble on all its surfaces. Imperial Danby is a wonderful alternative to some Italian marbles which often can be budget blowers. Quarried domestically in Vermont, Imperial Danby is a very dense and sound white marble, perfectly suitable for kitchens and baths. This kitchen features a full thickness, 2″ thick island, and perimeter countertops made from 3/4″ material with edges built up to 2″ to match the island.
The miter edge has been gaining in popularity the past few years. What was appealing to the homowner was that the countertop seems to be 2″ thick at the edges but not at the sink. A desirable look for this particular client that is very “Palm Beach” or “SoCaL” like in terms of design. This kitchen also featured full height backsplash with vein matched joints that flow all the way up to the hood.
