The Pele de Tigre is a white coloured marble, with thin to medium grain and a well defined dark blue vein. Its vein may present a very irregular pattern. In terms of hardness, this is a fairly hard natural stone. Its main variations depend on the vein intensity and pattern, as well as white colour and structure.
The Pele de Tigre is one of the most well-known white marble with blue vein in Portugal. It enjoys a very interestingh market in Portugal and decent market abroad. Despite this, current production levels are not very high and there are limited reserves for future exploration.
The finishing that has given the most credit to this marble is the polished one, where it highlights its blue / grey coloured vein and white coloured background. It is also common to find other finishings such as honed, aged and bush-hammered.
The Pele de Tigre can be commonly found on a diversity of interior and exterior applications. It is common to find it in cladding, flooring with moderate use, diverse stonework, coverings and other applications.
