Description: Ataíja Blue is a strong, vitreous material with grey and bluish-grey limestone, finely calciclastic. It is the strongest portuguese limestone and has low levels of absorption. Good polishing.

Compressive strength after frost test: 1570kg/cm2 (154 Mpa)

Bending strength: 105kg/cm2 (10.3 Mpa)

Apparent density: 2680 kg/m3

Water absorption at atmospheric pressure 0.4%

Open porosity: 0.9%

Thermal linear expansion coefficient (max. value): 3.9 X 10 -6 /ºC

Abrasion resistance (Amsler-Laffon): 2.6 mm / 200 m

Impact test - minimum fall height: 35 cm

Notes: No colour or structural changes on the samples were noticed after the 25 freeze-thawing cycles carried out.
