M.S. Extrabond Monocomponent Adhesive for Elastic Junctions in Cartridge

DESCRIPTION One-component quick sealant adhesive, hardening by atmospheric humidity, based on MS PolymerTM. Elastic, high cohesion, with excellent adhesion to a lot of surfaces, M.S. EXTRABOND makes joints of high performance elastic and sealing. It does not drip and has very high filling properties, so it is particularly suitable for making elastic adhesive joints between uneven surfaces. • Solvents and isocyanates free • Pratically not shrinking • Flexible at low (-40°C) and high (+100°C) temperature • Neutral reaction • Odourless • Quick polymerization • Compatible with a lot of painting systems • Excellent adhesion to a lot of substrates • Excellent resistance to ageing and UV radiation • Pasty consistency and very short setting time

FIELD OF APPLICATION • Assembly of insulating panels • Bonding of panels and wooden profiles, also painted, plasterboard, plastic laminate and hard PVC panels to masonry, frames and metal structures; • Bonding of overlaps between metal sheets or metal elements to other surfaces, on which it is not possible the welding or the use of mechanical fixing in building, transport means, metallic carpentry; • Bonding of metal profiles (U profiles) on crystal, slabs of plastic material and metal sheets for the refrigeration industry, refrigerated counters, furniture, transport means; • Bonding, also on the head, of EPDM gaskets in window frames and transportation; • Assembly of mirrors; • Bonding of reinforcement ribs of plate and fibreglass panels, and, in general, of structure subject to continuous vibration or between materials with different thermal expansion; • Insulation or coating of containers and vans; • Wood-metal bonding of door and window frames.

APPLICATION Preparing the surface. The surfaces must be perfectly clean and free from any kind on greasy substances. M.S. EXTRABOND has excellent adhesion capacity without the use of primer on surfaces of steel, galvanized steel, anodized aluminium, on painted surfaces in general, on cement, wood, glass and vitrified surfaces, ceramics, polyester, UPVC. In case of special working conditions, such as the presence of moisture or on porous surfaces, the adhesion can be improved by using the specific primer. Applying the adhesive. M.S. EXTRABOND can be applied by using a good quality caulking gun for onecomponent cartridge on one of the surfaces to be bonded. The coupling of the parts to be bonded must be effected within 10 to 15 minutes after the application of the product. To enable the correct hardening of the adhesive and to maximize the adhesive and cohesive properties it’s appropriate that the thickness, after pressing, is not less than 1-2 mm. When gluing surfaces of large dimension, the adhesive can be applied in a discontinued way in parallel curbs at a distance of 20 to 40 cm., and continuously along the perimeter; the curbs must be properly sized to fill any eventual irregularity. As the hardening takes place because of humidity in order to accelerate the process, particularly in case of bonding of not porous materials, it is possible to moisten the parts by spraying a little water before assembling. Join the parts within 5 minutes making an adequate pressure. If necessary keep under pressure the glued parts until it is developed the adhesive sets.

STORAGE, STABILITY Stored in dry place/room at temperature between +5°C and + 25°C (41°F and 77°F), into the unopened original packaging (cartridge of 290 ml.), the product has a stability of 12 months from the date of production.
